Question about Canadian work experience

I began my full-time Canadian job on October 20, 2025, which means I’ll officially complete 12 months of eligible Canadian work experience on October 19, 2026. When I checked my Express Entry profile, though, it already indicates that I qualify for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). I’m wondering if this is because the profile only requires employment dates by month and year, rather than the exact day I started working. Here’s what I’m unsure about: If I receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) before October 19, 2026, can I still submit my permanent residence application, or do I need to have completed the full 12 months before receiving the ITA? Has anyone experienced something similar?

IMO - I don’t think you can apply under CEC until you’ve actually completed the required 1 year of eligible Canadian work experience, even if your Express Entry profile already shows you as eligible. IRCC will verify your actual employment dates, so if your ITA comes before you complete the year, it’s safer to wait until you meet the requirement before applying.
