Our Methodology

How TrustImmi Works

TrustImmi is Canada's trusted directory for finding Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs). Here's exactly how we source, verify, and maintain the profiles you see.

Where Our Data Comes From

Every consultant listed on TrustImmi is a licensed professional registered with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) — the federal regulatory body established under the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Act (S.C. 2019, c. 29, s. 292).

Our foundation data is drawn directly from the CICC's official public registry, which includes each consultant's full legal name, registration number, current licence class (L1, L2, or L3), licence status, and province of practice.

Only consultants with an active licence status appear in TrustImmi's directory. Suspended or revoked consultants are excluded from search results automatically.

How We Enhance Profiles

Beyond registry data, TrustImmi adds platform-level structure and enrichment to make profiles genuinely useful to immigration seekers:

  • City and location mapping — enabling location-based search the CICC registry does not offer
  • Expertise and immigration program tagging — allowing searchers to filter by their specific situation
  • Language filtering — so users can find consultants who speak their language
  • Claimed profiles — where licensed consultants verify and enrich their existing profile, and add details TrustImmi doesn't source automatically, such as a website link, direct contact details, and a personal service description

The Profile Claim & Verification Process

TrustImmi operates a structured claim verification process for consultants who wish to manage their profile:

1

The consultant submits a claim request including their CICC registration number.

2

TrustImmi's team cross-references the submission against the official CICC registry.

3

Upon confirmation of active licence status, the consultant receives a secure link to access their profile dashboard.

4

Claimed profiles are marked with a verified badge, indicating the consultant has taken direct ownership of their information.

This process ensures that any enhanced content on a claimed profile is submitted directly by the licensed professional — not inferred or fabricated.

How We Keep Information Current

Licence statuses change. Consultants retire, relocate, or have their licences suspended. TrustImmi performs regular synchronization with the CICC public registry to reflect these changes. Consultants whose status changes to suspended or revoked are removed from active search results.

If you believe a profile contains outdated or inaccurate information, you can report it through our Contact Us page and our team will review it promptly.

Our Standards for Listed Content

We do not verify the quality of services provided by individual consultants, nor do we endorse any specific practitioner. Users are always encouraged to verify credentials directly through the CICC's official public register before engaging any immigration professional.

Official Registry Data

Every consultant profile starts with verified data from the CICC's official public registry — the authoritative source for all licensed RCICs in Canada.

Active Licence Filtering

Only consultants with an active licence status appear in our directory. Suspended or revoked licences are automatically excluded from search results.

Platform Enrichment

We add city mapping, expertise tagging, language filtering, and search tools that the CICC registry does not provide — making it easier to find the right consultant.

Consultant Claim & Verification

Licensed consultants can claim their profile after identity verification. Claimed profiles allow consultants to add bios, services, and contact details directly.

Error Reporting

Users and consultants can report inaccuracies at any time. Our team reviews all correction requests promptly.
